Midland Connect has proposed that a series of improvements should be made to the A5 between the A38 and the M1. The problem is that any improvements will not be in place before 2030 – and that assumes funding can be found for the improvements. The Midland Connect Strategy: Powering the Midlands Engine, acknowledges that the A5 is in need of considerable improvement to make it fit for purpose. This is based on the current situation which we know will be made worse if more planning applications are agreed across the length of the A5. We feel that further development at Magna Park should be put on hold until the A5 is upgraded. You can make this point to Harborough District Council by objecting to the two outstanding planning applications. Click here to find out how to object.
